I was a new mom that thought nursing would be easy and I would just naturally know what to do. And I thought the same when it came to pumping. Yep, one of my many learning moments! In addition to discovering how challenging these things were for me, I also didn’t realize how much of my time would be devoted to nursing and pumping. The thought of spending time at work pumping was a bit overwhelming to me. I knew how busy my work days were without taking breaks to pump so I had to find quick and easy ways that I’d be able to multi-task so I could continue working during my pump sessions. I started looking into my options for hands free pumping, and I didn’t like what I found.

There just had to be a better way to pump hands free than what products were available when I started pumping. I needed something that was super quick to put on and take off, something super easy to use, and something small to fit in with my pumping supplies, but couldn’t find anything that was convenient to use. Ultimately, I went into business with my mom and the Express Strap was born as a solution to my need for these things!

When I returned to work in 2015 after my first son was born, I figured out a temporary solution that worked to fit these needs, but it could be unreliable at times. I knew that if I could make a better design, then this could be a product that other moms would love. Working outside the home full time, being a wife and new mom didn’t leave me much time to make this idea a reality. But last year I was given the opportunity to stay home and live my other dreams of having more time to be Mom to my 3 babes and create the ultimate hands free pumping product for pumping moms. Through lots of collaboration, market testing and research, and product redesigns, the Express Strap is now patent pending and available for purchase!
