Naps?! Yes please! Any time, anywhere! It doesn’t take me long to fall asleep and I feel so refreshed after sleeping just 20 minutes. But for my kids, napping doesn’t come so easily. I often think to myself, if only you knew how lucky you were to get time to nap!

With our kids, we started having a routine with naps around 3 months, mostly due to our amazing daycare provider that helped provide that structure for them. Once each of them got into a napping routine during the day, they started sleeping better at night. Of course still at 3 months, the babes slept when needed but they easily fell into a pattern of needing naps around 10:00 and 2:00. At around 1 year, my babes transitioned to needing only one afternoon nap around 1:00. Even with our 5 year old, when he takes quiet time after lunch on the weekends he will often fall asleep.

Sleep is so important to how the day flows because of how the kids feel. We are not strict with our schedules and will let the kids sleep on the go or skip a nap if something is going on during nap time, but we are definitely mindful of timing when we are making plans.
